Siddha stall represented by Central Council for Research in Siddha(CCRS) and National Institute of Siddha at Dibrugarh, Assam

Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS) under the Ministry of Ayush is an apex body in India for initiating, undertaking, formulating, developing, coordinating and promoting research in Siddha on scientific lines. Under the aegis of CCRS 9 peripheral institutes/units are functioning,3 in Tamil Nadu, 1 each in Puducherry, Kerala, Karnataka, New Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Goa within the research and mandate to cope with the needs of the general public through clinical, pharmacological and literary research.In addition, Central Council for Research in Siddha is continuously providing health care services to the general public.

In view of commemorating the international Day of yoga 2023, Yoga Mahotsav 2023 countdown program has been organized by the Moraji Desai National Institute of Yoga, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India.

The event was marked by a mass yoga program following the common yoga protocol for 45 minutes starting by 6.30am in the city of Dibrugarh, Assam. As a part of the program a two days AYUSH exhibition has been conducted in the campus of Dibrugarh University, Assam on April 6-7, 2023. Medical consultations were given in all AYUSH systems of medicine to the visitors.

Siddha system of medicine was also represented and well exhibited in the event and free consultations and treatment were provided by the delegation from National Institute of Siddha, Chennai and the Central Council for Research in Siddha. Earlier the event was inaugurated in a grand manner by the honorable union minister of AYUSH & ports, shipping and waterways, Shri. SarbanandhaSonowal and the event was graced by the Deputy CM of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri. Chowna Mein, secretary AYUSH, Vaidya Rajesh kotecha and director of MDNIY, Dr. Ishwar V. Basavaraddi and delegates from various countries.

The Siddha delegation met the Honourable union minister and briefed about the rousing reception of the Siddha system of medicine among the general public of Assam and the Dibrugarh University officials,faculty and students. The team also apprised the MoA about the demand for Siddha treatment among the people of Assam.
