This year's theme of International Day of Yoga; Global theme: ‘Yoga for One World’ and Domestic theme is ‘Har Ghar Aangan Yoga’ which means Yoga in the courtyard of every house. Due to the modern lifestyle and stressful competition, people are leading an unhealthy routine. Yoga has a very special role in addressing all lifestyle related disorders like high blood pressure, stress, mental diseases and other non-communicable diseases and improves immunity to tackle infectious diseases.

   

According to the guidelines of the Ministry of Ayush, this year on 06 April to commemorate the 76th countdown day to the International Day of Yoga, a mass yoga demonstration was organized at Nisarga Gram, Yewalewadi by National Institute of Naturopathy in collaboration with the Central Bureau of Communications, Maharashtra and Goa Region, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.

The programme began at 07.00 am with a mass yoga demonstration as per common yoga protocol of the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. In the beginning of the programme, the artists of Central Bureau of Communications, Maharashtra and Goa region performed Yoga Geet.  Prof. Dr. K. Satya Lakshmi , Director NIN addressed the gathering and requested to take yoga at every door step. She also explained the global and domestic themes of this year.

   

Naturopathy Physician Dr. Pranav Khawle instructed the asanas and pranayama to the participants. In this programme, students and staff of NIN, students of Vidyashilp Public School,  and citizens of all age groups performed yogasanas. Activists of International Naturopathy Organization also participated in the event. About 800 participants of all age group participated in the event.
