The Induction course for Inspectors of CGST and Customs (Preventive officers), each fourteen weeks long, were being simultaneously conducted at NACIN, Chennai. The combined Passing out Parade for the 117 Inspectors of CGST (78) and Customs (39), was conducted on 23.02.2023 (Thursday) between 4 PM to 5 PM at NACIN ground, Nolambur, Chennai. The officers were trained in Customs & GST Laws & Procedures, various Allied Acts, and other areas of work to be carried out by them including physical fitness and handling of firearms. Shri M.Srinivas, the Principal Chief Commissioner of the CGST, Tamil Nadu & Puducherry and Chennai Customs Zone graced the occasion as Chief Guest, inspected the parade and received the Guard of Honour. Shri M.Ponnusamy, Pr.ADG (Retd.) and Dr.C.L.Ramakrishnan, DGP (Retd) were the special guests. Shri. K.R. Uday Bhaskar, Pr. Additional Director General, NACIN, Chennai, hosted the function. The senior officers of the Department highlighted the importance of Taxation in Nation-building to the young officers.
