The First batch of 100 students for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) course was inducted today at the newly built All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa. Union Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shri Shripad Naik, Prof. Harilal Menon, Vice Chancellor- Goa University, Director of AIIA, Dr Tanuja Nesari were present on the occasion.

Addressing the students, Shri Naik expressed his delight at having brought this project to Goa during his tenure as the AYUSH Minister. He shared his involvement in identifying the land, laying the foundation stone, and now, inaugurating the project, and expressed his warm welcome to the first batch. He emphasized that the institute would help boost medical tourism in Goa.

Shri Naik also highlighted the efforts of the newly formed Ministry of AYUSH under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and praised the All India Institute of Ayurveda in Goa for providing a perfect blend of ancient wisdom and modern technology in the field of AYUSH and tertiary care.

On December 11, 2022, the Prime Minister dedicated the AIIA to the people of Goa. The satellite center in Goa offers all the preventive, diagnostic, and healthcare facilities available in Delhi and provides 14 undergraduate academic courses.

 

About AIIA GOA

Spread over an area of 50 acres, the All India Institute of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy (AIIAY&N) is built to cater to over 500 students every year offering UG, PG, PhD Degrees. AIIA has a 250 bed hospital divided into two categories – a 100-bed Ayurveda facility and a 150-bed Naturopathy IPD.

The Institute has the hostel facility for 67 rooms for Doctors and 91 rooms for 182 students in medical college for Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy. Yoga facility centre includes Diabetic Clinic, Cardiac Care Unit, including specialized Yoga therapy room for 30 patients.
