Based on intelligence, Chennai Air Customs officers intercepted one male passenger who arrived from Guinea via Addis Ababa in Flight No. ET934/ET692 on 12.02.2023. On examination of his checked-in baggage, inside the false bottom of the baggage a black colour pouch containing white colour substance which after field testing was ascertained Amphetamine weighing 1539 grams valued at 3 Crores (Approx.) was recovered, which was seized under the NDPS Act 1985 and the Customs Act, 1962. The passenger was arrested.

Further investigation is under progress, according to a press release issued by M-MATHEW JOLLY, Pr. Commissioner of Customs, Chennai International Airport.
