NDRF celebrated 18th Raising day

On 19/01/2023 03rd Battalion NDRF Mundali, Cuttack celebrated 18th National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Raising Day at this unit campus. On this auspicious occasion, a grand parade was organized under the command of Insp/Exe S K Bhoi at the battalion campus. Shri Vardhaman Mishra, Second-In-Command of 03rd BN NDRF Mundali was the chief guest, and inspected the parade. After the parade, Second-In- Command of 03 Bn NDRF highlighted the role of NDRF. He said NDRF is a Specialized Indian special forces and multi-skilled manpower, came into existence on 19 January 2006.

The NDRF was established in the year 2006 in the wake of Odisha Super Cyclone(1999), Gujarat Earthquake(2001) and Indian Ocean Tsunami(2004), emphasizing the need for a comprehensive disaster management plan. The NDRF was established with 08 battalions with a special response to natural and man-made disasters. At present, NDRF has 16 battalion of all para-military forces i.e CISF, CRPF, ITBP, BSF, SSB & Assam Rifle. These NDRF battalions are located in sixteen different locations across the country based on a vulnerability and hazard profile to reduce response time for deployment. NDRF has earned a good reputation, nationally and internationally for its selfless service and unparalleled professionalism in disaster management. He told about the big role of 03 Bn NDRF Mundali in the year 2022 during Flood in the Assam, Andra Pradesh, Gujrat, Odisha  and Chhattisgarh. Further he praises the effort of 03rd Bn rescuers during “Rahul” rescue operation in district Champa Chhattisgarh.  He also said that various programme had been conducted by this battalion like Famex, Community Awareness Programme, School safety programme etc. He wishes for good health and prosperity for all Bn Personnel and citizens of India.
