Indian Audit & Accounts Department’s (IA&AD) Inter-Zone Table Tennis Tournament 2022-23 has been commenced in Ahmedabad from 9^th January to 11^th January 2023.  The Tournament was organized by Literary & Recreation Club, O/o Accountant General (Audit-II) Gujarat, Audit Bhavan, Ahmedabad at Topspin Academy, DevArc Mall, SG Highway, Ahmedabad. The closing ceremony was held on 11^th January 2023 at the academy.

In the tournament, more than 100 players and eight officials from 19 places across 17 states have participated. The tournament brought out the best from the pool of players in entire Indian Audit and Accounts Department. These players participated after winning in Zonal rounds in various zones of IA&AD. The event showcased interesting contests among a large pool of young and dynamic players, many of whom have had experience at the national level. The finals of the tournament were played on 11^th January. The winners in Open Category Championships are Mr. Abhimanyu Mitra of West Bengal Office – Men’s Category and Ms. Selena Deepthi of Telangana Office – Women’s category. West Bengal ‘B’ Team won the Team Championship.

The Chief Guest of the closing ceremony was Shri Tarun Jain, Divisional Railway Manager, Ahmedabad Division. Shri Vijay N. Kothari, Accountant General (Audit-II) Ahmedabad and other dignitaries of the office also graced the closing ceremony.

Shri Tarun Jain watched the final match. In his address, he motivated the players about physical activity. He said that it is the duty of the youth players to motivate others about health. He further said that we should minimize the use of mobile and come out of the virtual world so that we become physical activity and improve our health. He congratulated the winners, all the participants and the organizers for a successful tournament.

Shri Kothari congratulated the winners and encouraged the players who could not win. He said that those who lost should not lose heart and come prepared better next time and become a winner, this defeat should be a motivating factor for them.

The Secretary of Literary and Recreation Club of the office thanked all the participants, technical officials and organizing committee members who helped in organizing this event successfully.
