Minister calls for adopting  essence of Bhagawad Gita in everyday life.

Union  Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh has made it clear that India never favours war. As a country, India does not interfere in the affairs of other countries, but will retaliate if anyone tries to trigger off internal disturbances, the Minister said adding that  India cannot remain neutral to injustice and oppression. This  was the essence of Bhagwad Gita  that is inculcated in our administration and day to day matters. He said Bhagwad Gita is the iving Jnana Ganga which is blessing all of us through its transcendental knowledge. The Gita has influenced prominent people like philosophers and intellectuals all over the world. He  asked the youths to read the Bhagavad Gita and adopt its principles in their lifestyle.

Shri Singh was inaugurating  the Gita Dana Yajna Mahotsava  at  the ISKCON Sri Rajadhiraja Govinda Temple at  Vasanthapura, Bangalore today. The event coincides with   the  Gita Jayanti. The ISKCON Bangalore group of   temples plans  to distribute one lakh Bhagavad Gitas during the month-long Gita Dana Yajna. Many activities based on the  epic poem will also be organised during this period.

Eminent personalities like Padma Shri awardee T.V Mohandas Pai, Jnanpith awardee Chandrashekar Kambar, devotional vocalists S.Aishwarya and Soundarya, the great- granddaughters of Bharat Ratna M.S.Subbulakshmi, Shri S Somanath, Chairman, ISRO, Shri Chandru Iyer, British Deputy High Commissioner to Karnataka and Kerala, Shri Patrick Hebert, Consul General of Canada in Chandigarh, Shri Vidyabhushana, Devotional vocalist in Kannada and Tulu, Ms. Sapthami Gowda, Kannada Actress of Kantaaara fame and Ms Gayathri Reddy, Member, Global Shapers Community – a youth wing of World Economic Forum recieved  copies of the  Bhagwad gita on the ocassion.

Various groups of children and adults chanted the 700 Shlokas of the Gita in the temple complex.
