A two-day campaign on promotion of Digital Life Certificate (DLC) for Central Government Pensioners began in Bengaluru today. This is part of a nation-wide drive launched by the  Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare,  Government of India in association with the State Bank of India and various Pensioners' Associations at 37 centres across the country to  popularise DLC.

At the campaign organised at the SBI complex  near the Mysore Bank Circle, pensioners were given  orientation on how to download the Face Authentication Jeevan Pramaan App in their mobile phones and submit Life Certificate online. Pensioners can get digital Life Certificate using web-based or mobile phone-based application accessible at www jeevanpramaan.gov.in.  This will help lakhs of pensioners, especially the age-old ones, to submit Life Certificate  at the click of a button. Earlier, pensioners had to queue up for hours outside banks to give Life Certificate in physical form.

Shri Ruchir Mittal, Director (Pensioners' Welfare), Department of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension and  senior officers of SBI addressed and interacted with pensioners.  A free health checkup camp was also held as part of the campaign.  Around 100 pensioners from different parts attended.
