BSF Meghalaya welcomes cycle rally at international border of East Jaintia Hills
Cycle rally carries message of sense of security among the border population and raising awareness on stopping trans-border crimes

BSF Meghalaya today welcomed a cycle rally that started its journey from Tripura. Nineteen cyclists are on their way to cover a distance of 2000 km from Tripura to South Bengal.
The cycle rally, which is a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, was flagged off from ICP Akhaura, Tripura entered Meghalaya today. Shri Sandeep Rawat, DIG, Sector Jowai along with other officials welcomed the rally by garlanding all the cyclists on entering area of Meghalaya Frontier. A band show was also organized on their arrival. A cultural program was also put up by the Students of Holy Cross School, Umkiang.

The rally throughout its journey will convey the message to create a sense of security among border population, and spread awareness about stopping trans-border crimes, ill effects of drugs use and to motivate the youths to join Border Security Force, India’s first line of defense.


The Rally has covered 420 km distance so far, it will cover almost 245 km distance in Meghalaya ,promoting awareness on National integration and will spread the message of patriotism & fraternity among all Indians.
