On 2.11.2022, Shri Manoj Kumar, Hon’ble Chairman, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India, inaugurated the Khadi and Village Industries Exhibition of khadi products as ‘Chief Guest’ at MDTC-KVIC premises at Bengaluru.
On this occasion, he expressed his views that Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji is taking ‘Khadi India’ to new heights on the motto of 'Khadi for Nation, Khadi for Fashion and Khadi for Transformation'. It will be his endeavor that Khadi becomes 'Local to Global' and the demand for India's indigenous products will increase all over the world. KVIC is moving towards reaching out to every state, district, town and villages of the country, through various schemes, through Khadi institutions and PMEGP Units in the country and lakhs of people have been provided employment opportunities, especially women, with self-respect, at their door step. The Government of India have made a record contribution in the Khadi-Village Industries programs since last few years, many new records have been set in the production and sale of Khadi, lakhs of new jobs have been provided.
For promotion of the Bee-keeping activity and to supplement income of farmers, unemployed youth, etc., on the clarion call of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for “Sweet revolution” in the country, the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Govt. of India launched “Honey Mission” programme throughout the country since, 2017, which is one of the important schemes of KVIC among many employment oriented activities for the rural sector.
On this occasion, Shri Manoj Kumar distributed the Bee-Boxes, Bee-hives and tools to the trained beneficiaries. He further emphasis that the Bee-keeping is an income generating activity that suits the rural and village population. It can be adopted in any rural, agriculture and forest development for sustainable employment and entrepreneurship. The KVIC is also supporting by organising training for Bee-keeping.
Also distributed the certificates under the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) and soap making, as well as handed-over the letters to the PMEGP entrepreneurs. Shri Manoj Kumar interacted with the artisans, bee-keeping beneficiaries and representatives of the KVI Units.
For the support of the beneficiaries, Bee-Boxes, Bee-colonies are being distributed to the trained beneficiaries. Honey processing facilities are also available in the nearby areas and training centres of KVIC, besides that the KVIC is also supporting for Marketing of Honey in ‘Khadi India’ sales outlets.
On this occasion hon’ble chairman distributed Rs.126.65 crores of Margin Money Subsidy, estimated bank credit of Rs. 379.95 to 4050 PMEGP beneficiaries nationwide through digital india. This includes 329 beneficiaries amounting of Rs.8.9 crores Margin Money subsidy and estimated bank credit of Rs.26.7 crores for Karnataka state also.
On this occasion, Zonal Dy. Chief Executive Officer & State Director, KVIC, Bengaluru & Principal, MDTC-KVIC were also present.
