Central government spends Rs 8 lakh crore annually on public welfare projects: Additional Director General, Press Information Bureau

As many as 157 central government projects are being implemented at an annual cost of Rs 8 lakh crore for the benefit of the public said Thiru Annadurai, Additional Director General, Press Information Bureau and Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

A special awareness program on the public welfare projects of the Central Government which was organized by the Central Bureau of Communication Department, Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, was held at a private wedding hall at Tenkadappanthangal under the Walaja Union of Ranipettai District. The special awareness program was presided over by Thiru Annadurai, Additional Director General, Press Information Bureau and Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The special guest of this awareness program was Thiru. Bhaskara Pandian, Ranipet District Collector.

Speaking on the occasion, Additional Director General Ma. Annadurai mentioned that there were a large number of projects in different departmens in the central government and all of them have been structured into 157 projects and are currently being implemented. He said the central government spends about Rs 8 lakh crore for the welfare of the people for these projects only every year.

While speaking, District Collector Thiru. Bhaskara Pandian said the central government is providing loan assistance through banks to enable everyone develop as entrepreneurs in their lives and everyone should take advantage of this to progress in their lives.

Additional Director General, Press Information Bureau and Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Thiru Ma. Annadurai released a compilation book on the unsung freedom fighters of Tamil Nadu. It was received by the District Collector Thiru Bhaskara Pandian.

 

Indian Information Service Probationers awarded prizes to the well nourished children and also to the college girl students who scored the best marks in the college through the ongoing nutrition drive. Also, through the district lead bank, 15 self-help groups were given loan assistance amounting to Rs 1 crore 9 lakh and Rs 50 lakh 75 thousand worth TADCO loans were also given to 35 beneficiaries.

After that, the District Collector briefed the Probationers of the Indian Information Service about the stadium set up by the Department of Integrated Child Development Services Scheme and the Department of Posts.

He also explained to the Probationers of the Indian Information Service about the plastic waste management project being implemented in Ranipet district, including laying roads by turning plastic waste into pellets.

In this event, Central Bureau of Communication Director J Kamaraj  delivered the keynote address. District Panchayat president Pichumani presided over the program.  Vellore district Central Bureau of Communication Field Publicity Assistant Officer Jaya Ganesh delivered the welcome address.

Efforts were taken to make the general public and college students to know about central government’s various public welfare projects, district rural development agency’s schemes, district lead bank’s schemes, postal department’s schemes and Integrated Child Development Service Schemes

A large number of people including local body representatives and college students were also participated in the event.
