DSP Celebrates 76th Independence Day

Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP) celebrated the 76th Independence Day and remembered with gratitude the sacrifice of the freedom fighters. Shri B P Singh, Director In-charge (Burnpur & Durgapur Steel Plant) hoisted the National Flag at Ispat Bhawan amidst the presence of senior officials and a cross-section of DSP and CISF collective. He also inspected the ‘Guard of Honour’ of contingents of CISF.

While addressing the collective, Shri Singh remembered with reverence the indomitable spirit & valour of freedom fighters, whose sacrifice helped in attaining freedom from foreign shackles. He further complimented the DSP collective for their impressive physical performance on the production front and remarked employees as the greatest strength having immense potential, knowledge, experience, ability, and resilience to face difficult challenges for emerging stronger and propel our company to greater heights. The programme at Ispat Bhawan ended with the rendition of Vande Mataram. Subsequently, in a solemn programme on the occasion, senior officials and a cross-section of the employees paid floral tributes at the Workers’ Memorial built in remembrance of the workers, who sacrificed their lives during the modernisation of DSP. 

Thereafter Director In-charge, Shri Singh accompanied by Shri R Muniraju ED (P&A), Dr. R G Niyogi ED (M&HS), Shri P Murugesan ED (Projects), Shri K Bhattacharjee ED (MM), Shri Diptendu Ghosh ED (Works), Shri Arup Mukherjee CGM I/c (F&A) including Smt. Navita Singh, President, DSP Mahila Samaj and other senior officials of DSP & Mahila Samaj visited DSP Main Hospital in the township and distributed sweets amongst patients admitted to the hospital. Later Director In-charge, Shri Singh, and other senior officials also visited DSP Mahila Samaj and hoisted the National Tricolour.
