Union Minister of state for Information Broadcasting Fisheries Animal Husbandry Dairying Dr L Murugan today visited and inspected Asia’s largest cattle farm near Mathigiri Hosur in Krishnagiri district. Later speaking to mediapersons the minister listed out various schemes introduced by the Centre & achievements in the last 8 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi led government. He said beneficiaries are getting benefits of government schemes directly without intermediaries or agents through Digital India payment method. PM Jan dhan accounts have been started for common man so that they get the benefits of government schemes. Farmers are given Rs 6000 per annum under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. During covid pandemic times women in our homes were given Rs 500 in their bank accounts. Free LPG gas connection, clean drinking water, household toilets, Swachh Bharat ABhiyan, Ayushman Bharat scheme giving free medical insurance worth Rs 5 lakh are being successfully implemented, the minister pointed out. Whether it is shipping or aviation sector importance is given to nation’s progress. It was only since 2014 fisheries sector got a separate ministry at the centre. For 70 years, only Rs 4000 crore was allocated whereas from 2015 to 2022 more than Rs 32,000 crore is being invested in this sector. International stand alone works are going on Chennai Kasimedu harbour to raise it to global standards. Central government is giving opportunities to make youth entrepreneurs by giving 50 percent subsidy loan assistance for goat farming, poultry farming, pig breeding, cattle breeding centres. At this juncture of 75 years of India’s Independence Central government is implementing schemes with farsighted vision to realise dream of globally powerful nation on 100 years of India’s Independence. Union Minister said the central government has achieved awesome progress in the past eight years and is moving forward in pathway of progress. Earlier Krishnagiri collector Shri Jayachandra Bhanu Reddy welcomed the Union Minister. Mathigiri cattle farm and district livestock centre near Hosur in Krishnagiri district  in 1200 acres is Asia’s largest cattle farm. Union Minister planted tree sapling in the premises. He inspected the cattle breeding, livestock centre.
