1. केंद्रीय सांख्यिकी आणि कार्यक्रम अंमलबजावणी मंत्रालयाच्या केंद्रीय सांख्यिकी कार्यालयाने एका जाहीर पत्रकाद्वारे एप्रिल 2022 या महिन्यासाठी 2012=100 हा पाया मानून त्यावर आधारित संपूर्ण  भारतातील ग्राहक किंमत निर्देशांक (CPI) तसेच, ग्रामीण, शहरी आणि संयुक्त भागांसाठी संबधित ग्राहक खाद्यान्न किंमत निर्देशांक (तात्पुरता) जाहीर केले आहेत.  संपूर्ण देशभरासाठीचे तसेच विविध राज्ये आणि केंद्रशासित प्रदेशांसाठीचे विविध गट तसेच उपगटांचे ग्राहक किंमत निर्देशांकसुद्धा जाहीर केले आहेत.
2. यासाठी केंद्रीय सांख्यिकी कार्यालयाच्या क्षेत्र संचालन विभागाच्या कर्मचाऱ्यांनी देशातील विविध राज्ये आणि केंद्रशासित प्रदेशांमधील 1114 शहरी बाजार आणि 1181 गावांतील बाजारांना प्रत्यक्ष साप्ताहिक भेटी देऊन माहिती जमा केली. केंद्रीय सांख्यिकी कार्यालयाने एप्रिल 2022 मध्ये  99.9%  ग्रामीण व 98.3% शहरी बाजारपेठांमधून माहिती जमा केली. तर बाजारपेठ निहाय किंमतींसाठी 90.3% ग्रामीण आणि 93.7% शहरी बाजारपेठांनुसार किंमती नोंदविण्यात आल्या. 
3. सर्वसाधारण निर्देशांक आणि ग्राहक खाद्यान्न किंमत निर्देशांकांवर आधारित अखिल भारतीय महागाई दर (विद्यमान महिन्यातील दर आणि गेल्या वर्षी याच महिन्यातील दर यांची तुलना करून) खालीलप्रमाणे आहेत.
