Department of Telecommunications to launch of TAFCOP Portal in Kerala

Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Kerala Licensed Service Area announces the launch of portal for consumers to verify mobile connections customers of Kerala LSA.As per existing Government Instructions, the maximum number of mobile connections that can be issued to any individual is nine. However, it is noticed that more than nine mobile connections are working in the name of some individuals. Connections in excess of nine mobile connections working in the name of individuals will be disconnected after a period of 90 days by DoT with the support of mobile service operators. In order to streamline this process, DoT has launched TAFCOP(Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management and Consumer Protection ), a consumer portal to facilitate such consumers of Kerala, Lakshadweep and Mahe to choose the numbers limited up to 9, that they wish to retain. The individual consumers having more than nine mobile connections working in their name will receive an SMS from the department, informing the number of mobile connections working in their names. The consumers can visit the consumer portal https://tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in/ and select the numbers that are not required. The consumers will be provided with a ticket id, which could be used for tracking the progress of the action requested.

 

The detailed procedure is provided below:

1.     Upon visiting the TAFCOP website, the consumer after choosing the language, will provide his mobile number and request for OTP

2.     After validating the OTP, the partially masked list of mobile connections will be presented in the portal

3.     Consumer will have the option to select the desired option for the numbers - “This is not my number” or “This is my number, not required”;

4.     After carefully deciding their choice, the consumers can report their choices by selecting the correct options

5.     After reporting, the consumers will be provided with a ticket id, in the portal and through SMS, based on which they can track the progress
