Archaeological Survey of India, Chandigarh Circle observes World Heritage Day today at Thanesar

Observing 'World Heritage Day' celebrations, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Chandigarh Circle today organized various activities like photo exhibition, painting competition etc. in the premises of the tomb of Sheikh Chilli, Thanesar (Haryana). Various students from nearby schools enthusiastically participated in the competition. First, second, third and consolation prizes were distributed and participation certificates were also given. During this, Tricolour balloons were released in the sky by the students, staff and officials.

 

The students were given information about Sheikh Chilli's tomb, the antiquity of Thanesar and its history. Chief Guest Smt. K.A.Kabui, Superintending Archaeologist from Chandigarh Circle Office, Shri Jitendra Sharma, Assistant Superintending Archaeologist and Shri Pankaj Bharadwaj, Assistant Archaeologist guided the localites, students etc. and made the students aware about the Indian heritage. The students were also acquainted about the cleanliness of the monument.
