BSF Meghalaya is  putting in all out efforts to make the International Border safe and succeeded in  curbing smuggling, cross-border infiltration and other border menaces. Such endeavours of security forces irk miscreants who in desperation often attack BSF troops who are resisting their illicit acts day and night.

One such incident took place on Sunday, (March 13, 2022) in Nongkhen area, West Jaintia Hills district where some Bangladeshi nationals injured   two of the BSF troops by pelting stones on them. The miscreants acted violently when challenged by troops to stop them from carrying a head load containing cosmetics items from India to Bangladesh.

The BSF showing utmost restraint and respecting human lives did not open fire although it managed to seize smuggling stuff of more than Rs. 7 lakh from the place. The presence of mind and valiant act of troops has once again foiled the ill intention of cross border smugglers.
