In connection with the National Road Safety Week 2022 from 11^th Jan to 17^th Jan, a letter box available at Vellore Head Post Office has been inaugurated with helmet to create awareness on using helmet with caption: “Use HELMET for safe journey; Use SPEED POST for fast delivery”. As per existing covid guidelines, no inauguration functions done formally. The youngest women MTS in Vellore Division had dedicated the helmet with letter box to members of public.

The SPOs, Vellore Division, Shri. P. Komal Kumar stated that it will create social awareness among public on using helmet which will save life. There will be around two thousands foot-steps per day in Vellore HO premises and it will create awareness to the public to large extent. As the letter box situated outside the post office which is centrally located i.e Anna Salai, officers line, Vellore, the people going on the road by walk / by vehicle can easily get the message, according to the Press Release issued by Superintendent of Post Offices, Vellore Division, Vellore – 632.
