“Under the Puneet Sagar program of the NCC which is being observed from 1st to 31 December, over 3000 NCC cadets participated in various cleanliness drives across Goa. The collected wastes were disposed of with the help of the Panaji Corporation. More such activities have to be conducted to create more awareness among the public about the topic,” he said.

As part of the event, a mini photo exhibition was conducted at the beach to create awareness among the tourists and other visitors about the importance of keeping the beaches of Goa and its neighborhoods clean. A street play was also performed at the beach for the public as part of the initiative.

Earlier the day, a team of members of women self help groups visited the Material Recovery Facility of the CCP at Taleigao to learn the process of waste segregation and disposal.
