The NCC Cadets from the coastal areas across the country are undertaking Puneet Sagar Abhiyan from01-30 December 2021for cleaning the sea shores and beaches.  During the campaign the Cadetsalso spread awareness about the importance of clean sea and beaches.

            At the Marina beach, Chennai today, the NCC Madras Group Headquarters Madras (A), “1 Remount & Veterinary Squadron” conducted cleaning activities at the beach sides of the three places in the Marina viz., Mahatma Gandhi Statue, Light House and the INS Adyar. Nearly 500 NCC Cadets participated.

            After the cleaning activity, an Event was organised for the signature campaign for clean sea and beaches. Chief Guest of the Event, Shri Sylendra BabuDGP, Tamil Nadu Police joined the signature campaign by signing it. Dr Anandakumar, Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu Government also graced the occasion. The signature-boardhas been kept near the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Statue at Marina Beach for the public participation in the Campaign.

            Prior to the Event, a separate signature campaign was started from 13 December, 2021 by the NCC Group. Signatures were received from numerous celebrities and dignitaries, including Educationists, Police officers, Bureaucrats, and Armed forces  personnel etc.
