7500 sq ft Indian National Flag displayed at Mt. Vinson Base in Antarctica

To commemorate 75 Years of India’s independence and to mark Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, a 7500 sq ft Indian National flag was successfully displayed at Mt. Vinson Base in Antarctica by Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI), Darjeeling on November 27, 2021. The three member Indian expedition team led by Group Captain Jai Kishan of HMI, Darjeeling summited Mount Vinson 4892 mts. on November 30, 2021 and displayed the National Flag there as well. The team performed 125 sequence of Surya Namaskar and Vinayasha flow at Mount Vinson base camp on 4 December 2021 from 12:30 to 03:30 pm and also performed Yoga in Antarctica. They undertook the mountain bike cycle rally in Union Glacier at Antarctica. They were instrumental in safely bringing down two German members who had stuck in a storm.

The HMI Principal Captain Jai Kishan went skydiving in Chile's Andes Ranges. Group Caption JaI Kishan h also the recipient of the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award-2021.
