Hon'ble MoS for consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Environment, Forest & Cilmate Change, Govt.of India, Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey inaugurates 50,000 MTs Modern Rail-linked Grand Silo at Changsari, Assam

Hon'ble MoS for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey today inaugurates 50,000 MTs Modern Rail-linked Grand Silo at Changsari, Assam. Speaking on the occasion he said, it is a great initiative to build such a grand SILO in Assam for the storage of food grains and its sustainability.

Saying that 10 lakh metric ton (LMT) food grains (paddy) will be procured in Assam in this KMS (Kharif Marketing Season) 2021-22. Hon'ble Minister also assured to work closely with the State Government in order to give every possible assistance regarding food supply and distribution.

Hon'ble Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Assam Shri Ranjeet Kumar Das during his speech said that MSP (Minimum Support Price) is provided to farmers in order to safeguard the farmer to a minimum profit for the harvest. He also said that Rs. 1940 per quintal will be given to each farmer for the purchase of food grains in Assam.

Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha Guwahati, Assam, Smt. Queen Oja during the occasion said that it is a great privilege to have such a food grain SILO in Changsari, Assam which will prevent  deterioration of food grains. "Such industry will improve employment to local people and boost the area's development", she said.

Shri Atish Chandra, Chairman and Managing Director, FCI, Shri Rabindra Agarwal, Executive Director, (SILOS) FCI, Shri Manoj Kumar Gogoi, Executive Director, FCI Headquarter, New Delhi, Paishuni Kunar, Executive Director, FCI, North East, Shri Sudesh Kumar Yadav, Shri Sudesh Kumar Yadav, GM (R) FCI, Assam and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
