Kolkata; October 12, 2021

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi will dedicate 7  newly formed Defence Public Sector Units to the Nation on Friday, October 15, 2021 .The programme is being conducted by the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Government of India at DRDO Bhawan auditorium New Delhi from 10.30 a.m onwards. All 7 headquarters of DPSUs  and 41 Ordnance Factories will be connected virtually in the event.

The General Manager of Ordnance Factory Dumdum along with all the employees will perform Shastra Puja on the occasion. An exhibition of products, manufactured over period of time, in Ordnance Factory Dumdum, will be kept on display for employees and their family.

Department of Defence Production has formed 7 DPSUs with the vision to improve autonomy, accountability and efficiency in ordnance supplies of India . These seven DPSUs are Munition India Ltd., Armoured Vehicles Nigam Ltd., Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Ltd., Troop Comforts Ltd., Yantra India Ltd., India Optel Limited and Gliders India Ltd.

 

Ordnance Factory Dumdum is a unit of Yantra India Ltd. and it is engaged in business of manufacturing Military Grade components and Ancillary products. The main products of Ordnance Factory Dumdum are Tail Unit for 450kg HSLD BOMB, Fin Assembly and Stabiliser for Shell 125 MM HE, Magzine for 5.56 mm LMG and INSAS, Candle smoke body, Fuze for 105-37 LFGE2 etc. Recently, Ordnance Factory Dumdum has developed Mine APM -14, Cell Assembly for T-90 Tank , Muzzle adopter for 38 Mm GAS GUN etc .
