COVID-19 Update

India’s Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage crosses the landmark of 94 Cr

More than 66.85 Lakh doses administered in the last 24 hours

Recovery Rate currently at 97.99%; Highest since March 2020

18,166 New Cases reported in the last 24 hours

India's Active Caseload (2,30,971) is 0.68% of Total Cases

Weekly Positivity Rate (1.57%) less than 3% for last 107 days

With the administration of 66,85,415 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage crossed the landmark of 94 Cr (94,70,10,175) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 92,12,314 sessions.

The break-up of the cumulative figure as per the provisional report till 7 am today include:

The recovery of 23,624 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,32,71,915.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.99%. Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020.

Sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs continue the trend of less than 50,000 Daily New Cases that is being reported for 105 consecutive days now.

18,166 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours. This is the lowest recorded daily new cases in 214 days.

The Active Caseload is presently 2,30,971, which is the lowest in 208 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.68% of the country's total Positive Cases.

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of

12,83,212 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 58.25 Cr (58,25,95,693) cumulative tests.

While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.57% remains less than 3% for the last 107 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 1.42%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for last 41 days and below 5% for 124 consecutive days now.

Update on COVID-19 Vaccine Availability in States/UTs

More than 95.96Crore vaccine doses provided to States/UTs

More than 8.28 Crore balance and unutilized vaccine doses still available with States/UTs

As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost. In the new phase of the universalization of the COVID19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs.

More than 95.96crore (95,96,58,375) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category.

More than8.28Cr (8,28,73,425) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.

PM lauds everyone involved in vaccination drive

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has praised every stakeholder in the world biggest vaccination campaign.

Quoting a tweet from the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Prime Minister tweeted :

"This is just one example of the monumental effort put in by every stakeholder to ensure our fellow citizens get vaccinated.

Kudos to each and every person who is making India’s vaccination drive a success."
