A webinar on ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was organized today by Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), Guwahati under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.

In a gripping interaction, by Guest speaker, Shri. Krishna Kanta Lahkar, President, Assam State Freedom Fighter’s Sanmilan, Rongia, Assam shared his experience during the freedom movement. He highlighted the importance of Gandhian values in achieving India’s Independence. He appealed the younger generation for their active participation to act on the values that drove our freedom fighters to make the extreme sacrifices. Shri. Lahkar in his speech praised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his pivotal role he played to popularize Swachhta and  promoting Atma Nirbhar Bharat in the country.

 

Another speaker, Shri. Parag Nath, Principal, Prajapati Higher Secondary School, Borogaon, Sonitpur, Assam, highlighted the role played by various freedom fighters from Sonitpur. He also informed participants about the contribution made by freedom fighters from Assam in India’s Independence. “The sacrifices made by the Assam’s freedom fighters in India’s freedom is extraordinary and we feel proud of it.’’ He said.

 

Various Field officials of ROB, Guwahati along with students from all over the State participated in the webinar. An interactive session with the guests and participants was also held on the occasion.

Ms. Hiramani Das, Field Exhibition Officer, ROB, Guwahati moderated the whole webinar, Ms. W. Panthoibi Singha, Field Publicity Officer, ROB, Guwahati presented the welcome address and Ms. Smita Saikia, M&CO, PIB, Guwahati presented the Vote of Thanks on the occasion.
