This is an initiative to sponsor for a GIRL CHILD through Department of Posts. Postal Department offers an opportunity to the members of Public to sponsor for the future of a Girl Children who are below poverty line. Department of Posts has wide range of small savings schemes and the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, popularly known as SELVAMAGAL SEMIPPU THITTAM is a small deposit scheme of the Government of India meant exclusively for a girl child and is launched as a part of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign. The scheme is meant to meet the education and marriage expenses of a girl child. The account can be opened with a minimum of Rs.250/- for a girl child below 10 years.

Members of Public can contribute Rs.250/- for a girl child below 10 years by identifying the beneficiary and by opening SSY accounts in the nearest Post Office. Department of Posts will also help in identifying the girl child. Just contribute Rs.250/- and light a lamp for financial empowerment of a Girl Child.
