President, VP, PM and Union Ministers congratulate Mariyappan Thangavelu for winning silver in Paralympics

Greetings have been pouring in on Mariyappan Thangavelu for making the country proud by winning the Silver at the Men’s High Jump T63 final at Tokyo Paralympics on Tuesday. This is Mariyappan’s second medal from the Paralympic Games; in Rio 2016, he won the gold.
In a tweet, President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind said, "Our Paralympians continue to make us proud! India is delighted by the success of Mariyappan Thangavelu and Sharad Kumar for winning silver and bronze medals respectively in men's high jump at #Paralympics. Your resolve and perseverance are an inspiration for all. Congratulations!"
Vice President of India Shri M Venkaiah Naidu tweeted: "Heartiest congratulations to Mariyappan Thangavelu for winning a Silver Medal & Sharad Kumar for winning a Bronze Medal in Men's High Jump T63 event at Tokyo Paralympics 2020. The entire nation is proud of their achievements. Wishing them a bright future ahead. #Paralympics."
Congratulating Mariyappan Thangavelu, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi posted: "Soaring higher and higher! Mariyappan Thangavelu is synonymous with consistence and excellence. Congratulations to him for winning the Silver Medal. India is proud of his feat.

Union Minister of State in the Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Minister of State in the Information and Broadcasting, Dr L Murugan, tweeted in Tamil: "Congratulations to medal winner! Tamil Nadu's Mariyappan Thangavelu has won medal for the second consecutive time in Paralympics. I wholeheartedly wish him to achieve more and more heights."
