'Unsung Heros of Freedom Struggle during Independence of India' had a significant influence among the local masses setting the edifice of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' , experts opined in a Webinar organised by PIB, Guwahati on the topic ‘Reminiscing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in reverence of Unsung Heros providing impetus to Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' here today.

Talking about 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' and numerous 'Unsung Heros of Freedom Struggle during Independence of India', Shri Naresh Chandra Lal, Padma Shri Awardee, Ambassador Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Andamaan and Nicobar Islands, Film Producer and Director said 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' has a dimension of 'Atma Nirbhar Bharat' and 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'. 'Atma Nirbhar Bharat' and 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' was the core component of Indian Independence movement. He told how Kanaklata Barua and Rani Gaidinliu demonstrated courage, devotion and determination to lead the masses with an objective. He said that their efforts were inspirational as well as motivational. Talking about Cellular Jail in Andamaan and Nicobar Islands, he said that Independence of motherland came with lot of efforts and dedication of freedom struggle which youth should not forget or ignore.

Prof(Dr.) Mohd Arif Khan, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh said that history is replete with examples of freedom struggle by national leaders who motivated and guided the masses towards striving for independence of motherland. He delved in detail about ‘Swadesi movement’ with ‘Vocal for Local products’ whether it was the khadi and textile products or the local bamboo works which empowered the masses in respect to socio-economic development of local communities.

Ms Pallavi Gogoi, Assistant Professor, University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya said that common people were able to relate to the Independence movement leaders vision and aspiration. She said that whether it was Non-Cooperation Movement or Dandi March or Bardoli Movement, the role played by innumerable unsung heros at various levels helped build the tempo and the nationalistic fervour eventually making it a mass movement.

Ms Sayanika Deka, Project Lead, Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati said that Women empowerment with ‘Atma Nirbar Bharat’ were the biggest positives in the freedom struggle. Talking about U Kiang Nangbah, Maniram Dewan, U Tirot Sing Syiemlieh, Haipou Jadonang, Paona Brajabashi, Moje Riba, she said that reminiscing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is about reverence of numerous Heros who were the primary edifice of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'.

Shri Hemanta Rabha, Senior Official and Consultant working in joint project of Assam Government, National Youth Awardee (2003) and UNESCO General Conference Youth Forum Attendee in Paris(2003) talked about Hem Barua, Pa Togan Sangma, Shoorvir Pasaltha, Matmor Jamoh, among others. He said the patriotism and boldness demonstrated during the freedom struggle had an eventual effect on strengthening the edifice of 'Atma Nirbhar Bharat' and 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'.

The informative and knowledge webinar was planned and coordinated by Shri Samrat Bandyopadhyay, Joint Director (M & C), PIB, Guwahati. Senior officers of PIB including Shri SN Pradhan, ADG, PIB Guwahati and Regional Outreach Bureau officials were present in the webinar. The webinar delved into details on the various aspects of the topic such as 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' which ultimately led to ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, among others.
