Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:

(a)        the number of houses for which financial assistance for construction has been provided under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) during the last two years;

(b)        if so, the details thereof, including the State of Gujarat district-wise;

(c)        whether there is any plan to increase the financial assistance; and

(d)       if so, the details thereof?

(a)& (b) To achieve the objective of “Housing for All”, the Government is implementing Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) w.e.f. 1^st April, 2016 in rural areas which is being facilitated by Ministry of Rural Development and Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Urban (PMAY-U) since 25^th June, 2015 in urban areas which is being facilitated by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

            A total target of 1,02,96,341 houses have been allocated to all States/UTsincluding targets of Gujarat under PMAY-G during the last two years i.e. financial year 2019-20 and 2020-21. Out of this, 97,22,861 houses have been sanctioned and first instalment has already been released to 90,29,860 beneficiaries. The district-wise details of number of houses for which at least first instalments have been released in the State of Gujarat during the last two years are given in Annexure.

(c)& (d) At present, there is no proposal   to increase the financial assistance for construction of houses under PMAY-G.
