Keeping in view the needs of general public residing at Perumbakkam and its adjacent areas and its vast development, the Postal Department is opening a new Sub Post Office at Perumbakkam w.e.f. 01.03.2021.

 

The new Post office will serve a population of about 71000 of Perumbakkam Panchayat and its adjacent areas.  The new office will function at No. 52, Dr. Ambedkar Salai, Perumbakkam with the working hour from 0900 A.M. to 0500 P.M.   The computerized new post office will provide all kinds of postal facilities like posting of unregistered mails, booking of registered letters, Parcels, VP letters/ parcels, Speed Post, Money Orders and collection of telephone bills and PLI/ RPLI insurance premiums and Core Banking Services of all Savings Bank Schemes like Savings Deposit, Recurring Deposit, Time Deposit, Monthly Income Scheme, Senior Citizen Savings Scheme, Sukanya Samriti Account, Public Provident Fund Account, National Savings Certificates, Kisan Vikas Patra the general public.  The mail delivery to the area will continue to be provided from Medavakkam Post Office, Chennai 600 100.  Perumbakkam will be the 100^th Sub Post office of Tambaram postal Division with Pincode 600 100.

 

The new Post Office will be inaugurated by Smt. Sumathi Ravichandran Postmaster General, Chennai City Region Chennai 600 002 on 01.03.2021 at 1000 hours in the august presense of Shri. K. Soma Sundaram, Director of Postal Services, Chennai City Region, Chennai 600 002.

 

The general public, residents of the locality, commercial and educational institutions are requested to utilize the postal services offered from this new Post Office and extend their support to the Department.
