Entrepreneurial and Business Development in Cuisine and Hospitality Industry to spur NE Socio-Economic potential, experts opined in a Webinar organised by Press Information Bureau, Guwahati on the topic 'Vivacity of the Cuisine and Hospitality Industry-Celebration of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' here today. Experts from Industry, entrepreneurial fraternity, Government sector along with academicians deliberated and discussed about the potential of North East from cultural, socio-economic growth, development and policy perspective.

Prof(Dr.) Mohd Arif Khan, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh said that Women are vital in the socio-economic development of the industry. Dr Khan said that the entrepreneurial potentials are tremendous because of the huge market and consumption capacity. He said that Marketing Strategy with awareness and entrepreneurial opportunities are adding to the cultural and socio-economic development of people.

Talking about Rajasthan and Assam which are grouped in Government awareness about 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat', Ms Pooja Yadav, Young Media Professional, Information, Education and Communication Department, Ministry of AYUSH, said that just as Dal Baati Churma, Papad Ki Sabji, Bajra Roti and Onion Kachori with chutney and pickles demonstrate the taste and culture in Rajasthan, the food in Assam, be it Fish Curry and Banana flower curry add to the cuisine culture in Assam. She said that it demonstrate the patience and hard work in the food and hospitality industry.

Ms Sayantani Sinha, Psychologist said that cuisine and hospitality industry is adding to employment opportunities. She said that as Celebration continues with festivities, Bihu and Vasant Panchami exemplifies the Vivacity of the Cuisine and Hospitality Industry. She said that Bio-diversity and Human Talent in Cuisine add to the Cultural exuberance in Festivities. She said that the food demonstrate the appreciation of culture and the diversity of the country. She said that being optimistic is vital to ward off diseases and food is vital for nutrition.

Ms Anita Dutta Gupta, Entrepreneur in Fashion Industry said that various industries are doing value-addition such as eco-tourism, tea-tourism, and adventure-tourism to the Food and Hospitality Industry. She said that it also encourages and motivates entrepreneurial opportunities in Entertainment, Tea, Tourism and Agriculture-Allied Industry.

Ms Hiramani Das, Field Exhibition Officer, Regional Outreach Bureau, Guwahati said that festivals are opportunities to experience the élan and exuberance of Culture with celebration of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'. Talking about initiatives of Ministry of Tribal Affairs, she said that festivities are also opportunities to demonstrate the talent of friends of tribal communities and to appreciate the culture and family value system.

Ms Sucharita Sahoo, Field Publicity Officer, Field Outreach Bureau, Barpeta welcomed all as the webinar delved into details on the various aspects of the topic such as Food, Culinary and Hospitality Industry of NE and its entrepreneurial potential, Culture, Infrastructure and socio-economic development of North Eastern region, among others.
