Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has requested Padma Shri awardee Smt.Pappammal to be the "Ambassador of Organic Producers" to inspire other progressive farmers in the country.

In a letter to Coimbatore-based Smt Pappammal, APEDA Chairman Dr M Angamuthu said, "I respectfully convey my sincere gratitude for being conferred with the Padma Shri by the Government of India on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day."

Stating that he was delighted by Smt Pappammal's passion in undertaking organic farming specially by growing Millets, Pulses, Corn and recently Banana in 2.5 acres of land and the untiring efforts in nurturing the nature from a very young age, Dr Angamuthu said she has achieved excellence in the field.

"As an admiration for the overwhelming dedication and commitment in practicing organic farming and guiding farmers, kindly accept our request as "Ambassador of Organic Producers" in order to inspire other progressive farmers in the country to adopt organic farming and accomplish monumental feat such as yours" he mentioned.
