Based on intelligence one Syed Abdul Razak,32, of Tiruvallur who was destined for Dubai by Air India Express FlightIX1643was intercepted in security hold area after he had cleared immigration on suspicion of carrying foreign currency. On search of his handbag  4000 Euros in denomination of 50 were found concealed inside. Further, on his personal search one bundle wrapped with adhesive tape was recovered from rectum. On cut opening the bundle  4000 Euros in denomination of 100 were recovered. Total 8000 Euros equivalent to Rs.7.09 lakhs were recovered and seized under Customs Act read with Foreign Exchange Management (Export and Import of currency) Regulations, 2015.

Further investigation is under process, according to a press release issued by the Commissioner of Customs Chennai International Airport.
