NATIONAL SIDDHA DAY TO BE CELEBRATED ON JANUARY 2

Fourth National Siddha Day will be celebrated by Union Ayush Ministry on January 2 this year. National Siddha Day is celebrated every year on the birthday of Siddhar Agathiyar , the father of Siddha Medicine by Union Ministry of Ayush.

The first Siddha day was celebrated on January 4, 2018,  Margazhi month,  Aayilyam star, the birthday of Agathiyar.  The second Siddha Day was celebrated on December 26, 2018 and the third national Siddha Day was celebrated on January 13, 2020. The fourth national Siddha Medical Day will be celebrated on January 2, 2021 as birth star of Agathiyar falls on that day. As prelude to fourth Siddha day celebrations,  special Siddha medical camps were conducted on all Mondays in the month of December,  according to Tiruchirapalli district Siddha Medical officer Dr S Kamaraj. He said that  on January 2, fourth National Siddha Day,  special Siddha medical camp will be held in Trichy, Karur, Ariyalur and Perambalur. In this medical camp,  diagnosis and Siddha treatment will be given for many diseases. This include diabetes, heart ailments, thyroid, knee pain, uterus problems and other ailments.

He said that on December 14, special Siddha Medical camp was held at Trichy Govt Siddha Medical hospital and other Siddha medical centres in Trichy,  Karur, Perambalur and Ariyalur districts. Special medical camps were  held from morning 8 AM to evening 5 PM in Siddha Medical Hospital in Trichy and from 9 AM to 3 PM in other Siddha centres. Special Siddha Medical camps were held on December 14, 21, 28.  In the first Siddha Medical camp on December 14,  special diagnosis and treatment was given for diabetes, blood pressure and medicines given free of cost. On December 21, Siddha Special medical camp testing was done for cough, sinus, nasal infection, asthma and medicines were given. Siddha medicines were also given for Dengue fever.  On December 28, special Siddha Medical camp, Arogya health box was given to those persons who have recovered from covid 19. These medicines given in Arogyapettakam health box will help strengthen self immunity.

Apart from these special medical camps,  poster competitions, elocution competitions were held to create awareness about Siddha medicines. Elocution competition for college students on the title 'Siddha medicine-  unchanged even during changed generation'  at Trichy District Siddha Medical Office was held on December 29. Poster and slogan making competition for school students was conducted online. E-certifcates were  given for all participants and first three prize winners will get shields and other prizes. Apart from that,  special webinars by Siddha doctors were organised . When the Government hospitals were busy treating the severely affected covid 19 patients,

Ayush System of medicine has greatly helped the frontline workers and covid - 19 patients  with mild infections in building up the immunity against the corona virus.
