MINISTER OF STATE FOR EXTERNAL AFFAIRS AND PARLIAMENTARY AFFAIRS, SRI. V. MURALEEDHARAN INAUGURATED THE RENOVATED PREMISES OF REGIONAL PASSPORT OFFICE, HYDERABAD

Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Sri. V. Muraleedharan inaugurated the renovated premises of Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad through video conference at a virtual ceremony organized today(29.10.2020) at Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad.

 

The inauguration was done in the august presence of Sri. G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs, Sri. Mohammed Mahood Ali, Hon’ble Home Minister of Telangana, Sri. A. Revanth Reddy, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Malkajgiri Lok Sabha Constituency, Sri. G. Sayanna, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Secunderabad Cantonment and Senior Officers of Ministry of External Affairs and CPWD.

 

The renovation exercise was taken with the objective to upgrade infrastructure and to provide better public services. The new building hosts a common reception with a new public waiting hall, multipurpose hall and conference facilities apart from improving accessibility to public including ‘divyang’ applicants.

 

As a part of the renovation, other offices of Ministry of External Affairs including Protector of Emigrants(POE), Branch Secretariat(BS) and Indian Council for Cultural Relations(ICCR) have been integrated within Regional Passport Office premises, making Hyderabad only the second city after Mumbai to have such an integrated MEA complex. Public can avail various MEA services including Passport, Emigration, Apostille and ICCR related services under one roof in a hassle free and comfortable environment.

 

Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad has been among the top performing passport offices in the country. Even during the Covid lockdown, Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad was working to bring down the pendency and address public grievances. All five Passport Seva Kendras(PSKs) and Post Office Passport Seva Kendras(POPSKs) in Telangana have resumed full operations from mid September, 2020.
