The Mail Motor Service of Gujarat Postal Circle played an important role in the transmission of Medicines & Medical Supplies during COVID-19 crisis. During the COVID-19 lockdown, when on account of white spread fear all other public institution were almost closed, Gujarat Postal Circle backed by the courageous staff of Mail Motor Service entered into an understanding with IDMA for transmission of Medical Supplies.

 

To strengthen the MMS service in the Circle, Shri B P Sarangi, Chief Postmaster General, Gujarat today flagged four new vehicles. These vehicles will add to the strength of existing fleet of 49 vehicles in the circle. These vehicles will be largely used for strengthening the Road Transport Network for transmission of Parcels including Ahmedabad-Jaipur route.

 

During the function at Ahmedabad GPO, Chief Postmaster General, Gujarat and Postmaster General, Ahmedabad HQ Region also felicitated the Drivers & MTSs who showed courage and transmitted the Medicines in Gujarat & neighbouring circles, dispelling all the fears of Corona virus

 

The strengthening of MMS fleet with four new vehicles is an indication of the commitment of DoP to transmit and deliver all essential articles and parcels of e-commerce industry with reliability and commitment.
