पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी आज बँकॉक, थायलंडच्या दौऱ्यावर जाणार आहेत. तिथे होणाऱ्या आसियान संबंधित शिखर परिषदांमध्ये ते सहभागी होतील. यात आसियान-भारत शिखर परिषद, पूर्व आशिया शिखर परिषद आणि प्रादेशिक आर्थिक वित्तीय  भागीदारीविषयक वाटाघाटी संदर्भातल्या बैठकींचा समावेश असेल. त्याशिवाय, विविध जागतिक आणि द्विपक्षीय मुद्द्यांवर ते जगभरातल्या महत्वपूर्ण नेत्यांशी देखील चर्चा करतील.

आसियान संबधित शिखर परिषदा हा भारताच्या परराष्ट्र धोरणातील महत्वाचा घटक आहे, असं मत पंतप्रधान मोदी यांनी या दौऱ्यासाठी निघण्यापूर्वी जारी केलेल्या निवेदनात व्यक्त केले. विशेषतः भारताच्या पूर्वेकडील धोरणासाठी महत्वाचा भाग आहे, असे पंतप्रधान म्हणाले. पूर्व आशिया शिखर परिषदेद्वारे  भारत-प्रशांत महासागर प्रदेशाविषयी भारताची भूमिका मांडण्याची संधी मिळेल अशी अपेक्षा त्यांनी व्यक्त केली.

पंतप्रधान  आज बँकॉक येथे 'हॅल्लो/ सव्हादी पीएम मोदी' या कार्यक्रमात थायलंडमधील भारतीय समुदायाशी संवाद साधणार आहेत. भारतीय समुदायाने थायलंडच्या विकासासाठी दिलेल्या योगदानाचे कौतुक करतांना या समुदायाला भेटण्यासाठी आपण उत्सुक असल्याचं पंतप्रधानांनी म्हटलं आहे.

In Bangkok, there will be meetings with various world leaders to discuss important bilateral and global issues. India is eager to improve connectivity with @ASEAN nations. The East Asia Summit gives an opportunity to present our vision for the Indo-Pacific region.
