A seven days Mega Multimedia Interactive Exhibition on 150^th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi has been planned at Sonaram High School playground from 14^th of October, 2019 to 20^th of October, 2019 by Regional Outreach Bureau, Guwahati under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The week long Mega Multimedia Interactive Exhibition will be first of its kind in the entire North Eastern region covering an area of 10000sq.ft. The exhibition will showcase the life, philosophy and ideals of Gandhiji . The exhibition will depict some of the objects and possession of Mahatma Gandhi along with some rare pictures of Gandhiji’s visit to various places in Assam. In the exhibition, the handwritten letters of Gandhiji, rare pictures of his life and stay in South Africa, flip book, a complete timeline of Mahatma Gandhi will be showcased.

The seven-day event will also show various performances viz dance, drama, interactive sessions and discussions. Every day the exhibition will showcase cultural programmes like mimes, folk dances depicting culture and tradition of different tribes of Assam and other parts of the Northeast. The artists of the Song & Drama Division will be showcasing 5 hours of Dance Marathon depicting dance forms of eight North Eastern states.

 

Hon’ble Governor of Assam, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, will be inaugurating the Mega Event on 14^th of October at 6.30 p.m.
