COMMISSIONING OF CONTINUOUS AMBIENT AIR QUALITY MONITORING SYSTEM (CAAQMS) AT FORT WILLIAM

Another milestone was achieved today when on the ongoing initiative of ‘Project Go Green’, saw commissioning of “Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring System (CAAQMS)” at Fort William Military Station. The system was commissioned by Lt. Gen. M. M. Naravane, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command.

 

CAAQMS facilitates in measuring a real time monitoring of Air Pollution, including particulate matter, all round the year. Besides, it also displays digitally, other viral statistics of weather, to include wind speed, direction, ambient temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, barometric pressure and rain gauge. The data can be remotely monitored on internet and can be collated into various desired formats, by West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) or any other local or international weather/pollution controlling monitoring authorities.

 

Through the initiative of Mr. Kalyan Rudra of WBPCB, CAAQMS was dedicated to families and all ranks of Fort William Military Station and will be the guiding beacon for rest of the regions to follow. CAAQMS will also facilitate compliance enforcement through credible pollution monitoring and reporting practices with minimal manual intervention.
