As part of Income Tax Day celebrations XI^th standard school students from Vidya Mandir, Mylapore were invited to the Ayakar Bhavan, The Income Tax Office in Chennai.

The students were given a presentation on the importance of payment of taxes in our nation building, voluntary compliance and functioning of Ayakar Seva Kendra. The students actively participated in the interaction. Many students raised lot of queries on Income Tax. The Session was well received by the teachers & the students who are the future tax payers.

Dr.U. Anjaneyulu, IRS, Principal Commissioner of Income-tax-1 gave them a brief exposure Income Tax, e-filing etc, in general. Ms. E. Pavunasundari, IRS, Jt. Commissioner of Income-tax, Non Corporate Range -1 (NCR-1)  explained about overall functioning of the Department, Shri. U.N. Dilip, IRS, Dy. Commissioner of Income tax, NCC-1 clarified the questions raised by students.

Income Tax Department is planning more such events in future.
