Goverment working on addressing export sector issues: Commerce & Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu

The Minister for Commerce & Industry, Shri Suresh Prabhu has said that the Government of India is working towards addressing all issues related to exporters such as GST, ease of doing business and logistics. He was speaking at the valedictory session of the IMC’s conference on “Export Promotion and International Trade” in Mumbai today. Shri Prabhu also emphasised that the Government is taking various steps with a view to enhance exports from India.

 

The Minister added that greater exports will not only benefit exporters, but will also help in enhancing overall economic growth. The Minister assured exporters present at the function that the Government is committed to the cause.

 

Earlier inaugurating the conference the Minister for Industries & Mining, Government of Maharashtra, Shri Subhash Desai, said nine textile parks in the cotton growing areas of Marathwada, Vidharba and North Maharashtra are being set up, in addition to the already existing one in Amravati, to boost textile manufacturing primarily for export markets.

 

 

The conference was attended by over 200 delegates comprising of exporters, corporate sector professionals, bankers and officials from various government departments, including DGFT and ECGC.
