8 metropolitan cities selected by the Government to address issues of women safety

To address the issues of women safety including in public spaces and public transport, Government of India has selected eight metropolitan cities namely, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Lucknow in the meeting of ‘Steering Committee’ held on 30th November, 2017 under the chairmanship of Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs.
This information was given by Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Dr. Virendra Kumar in reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
