Connectivity for remote and Naxal hit areas

In 2009, a Road Requirement Plan (RRP) for improvement of road connectivity in Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas of 34 Districts in 8 States of Andhra Pradesh (including Telangana), Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa and Uttar Pradesh was approved. Original RRP envisages development of 5565 km length of National Highways & State roads to 2 lane at a cost of Rs.7300 crore. As per proposals received from State PWDs based on site requirement, a length of 5422 km was sanctioned for Rs. 8585 crores. State-wise details of works sanctioned and road length under Road Requirement Plan (RRP) is as under -
