Achievements of NEC

 A total number of 628 projects at approved cost of Rs.5427.24 crore have been undertaken by North Eastern Council (NEC) in all the eight States of North East, till date. An amount of Rs.1725.41 crore has also been approved for 157 projects, which have been undertaken under agencies other than the State Governments of the North East States.

Budget allocation of Rs.3394.10 crore has been made in the last three years and the current financial year and the total expenditure incurred is Rs.2936.09 crore in these years (till November, 2017).

 A total number of 284 projects at an amount of Rs.2011.03 crore, undertaken by NEC, have been completed in last three years and the current financial year, till November, 2017 and total 430 numbers of projects for an amount of Rs.3210.39 crore have been sanctioned in these years.

A total number of 126 projects at an amount of Rs.2992.12 crore have been sanctioned under Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) scheme of Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region during the last three years and current financial year. An amount of Rs.2549.67 crore has been released and Utilization Certificates for an amount of Rs.2668.05 crore have been received during these years.

This was stated by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh in a written reply to question in the Lok Sabha today.
