Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation constituted a Committee vide Office Memorandum dated 21.07.2016 under chairmanship of Justice (Retired) Giridhar Malviya for preparation of Draft Act on river Ganga.

 The Committee has submitted Draft Bill titled “The National River Ganga (Rejuvenation, Protection and Management)” Bill, 2017 on 12.04.2017.

 Draft Bill is presently under examination by a Committee constituted by the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, under the Chairmanship of Director General, National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG).

The draft bill is presently under review by a Committee constituted under the Chairmanship of Director General, NMCG.

This information was given by Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Dr. Satya Pal Singh in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.
