Projects/proposals amounting to more than Rs.2600 Crores appraised/recommended under Nirbhaya Fund

Government of India has set up a dedicated fund called “Nirbhaya Fund” in 2013, for implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing the safety and security for women in the country. It is a non-lapsable corpus fund. The details of funds allocated under Nirbhaya Fund is as under:

The Empowered Committee set up under “Nirbhaya Fund” by the Government of India appraises, recommends and reviews from time to time various proposals/projects proposed by different Ministries/Departments/States/UTs. So far twelve meetings of Empowered Committee have been held which appraised and recommended proposals/projects amounting to Rs.2644 Crores approximately.
