The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs had intimated on 21.05.2014 that the revised Prevention of Torture Bill, 2010, as recommended by a Select Committee of Rajya Sabha, had lapsed on dissolution of the 15^thLok Sabha on 18^th May, 2014.  Presently, there is no proposal in this Ministry to table the Revised Prevention of Torture Bill, 2010.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Hansraj Gangaram Ahir in written reply to a question by Smt. Vandana Chavan in the Rajya Sabha today.
