Coir Training Institutes

Coir Board is having the following Training Institutes for imparting training on Coir Processing and value addition of the coir products.
(i) National Coir Training and Design Centre, Kalavoor, Alleppey, Kerala
(ii) Regional Extension Centre, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu.
Apart from this, Coir Board organizes various training programmes through the following Regional Offices and Sub Regional Offices of the Board in association with coir co-operative societies, units etc.
- Pollachi & Singampunari in Tamil Nadu
- Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh
- Bhubaneswar in Odisha
- Kalavoor, Attingal & Kannur in Kerala
- Bengaluru in Karnataka
- Guwahati in Assam
- Sindhudurg in Maharashtra
- Hyderabad in Telangana
- Port Blair in Andaman & Nicobar Islands
- Kavaratti in Lakshadweep Islands
Coir Board is providing training on Coir Processing and value addition of the coir products for self employment to rural artisans in coir producing regions under Skill Development Programmes such as Mahila Coir Yojana and Value Added products manufacturing training programmes.
During the last year Coir Board has already started three livelihood Business Incubation Centres at Bhubaneswar, Rajahmundry and Thanjavur for providing modern production process and technologies to encourage the prospective entrepreneurs.
