Raksha Rajya Mantri, Dr. Subhash Bhamre met Mr. Phil Bryant, the Governor of Mississippi, United States, at South Block today. Governor Bryant is on a visit to India to promote trade and economic cooperation between India and Mississippi.
Mississippi is a centre for defence manufacturing and research in the United States, including for advanced naval equipment, sensors and unmanned systems. Raksha Rajya Mantri briefed Governor Bryant on the emerging opportunities for manufacturing of defence equipment in India under Prime Minister’s Make in India initiative and invited Mississippi-based companies to explore joint ventures and collaborative partnerships with Indian private and public defence industry. Governor Bryant also interacted with a wide cross section of Indian industry representatives at an event hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry today.
